hierarchy study

Tom and Jerry cover
here is my attempt at the cover John K. posted a while back to copy. This was my fourth attempt and as you can see it is way under par. My ability to judge proportions is abysmal. I hope all this failure leads somewhere.

more skadi
still drawing skadi... trying to learn to sketch faster, but I am worried I am going to start getting bad habits and not really learning the basic shapes and proportions. I did a quick and dirty image in flash just to see what I remember about drawing and coloring in it.

I entered the contest
i did a marathon two days to try and make a skadi comic, but at 5 am Sunday, I had just an inked version. I decided to send it anyway. I got an email back saying Luke and Katie liked it and they wanted to see it in color, which made me so happy. They extended the deadline or something apparently. Now that I look at it again, I see all kinds of crappy problems with what I did, but I guess I will still color it and maybe try and start on a new one. I am so thrilled that I got a positive response. Tonight, I figured out an approach to sketching Skadi's head which I am almost equally excited about it!
